Newsprint
Spot Color
A spot color is an additional color used to add emphasis or call attention to an area or
section of a publication.
One spot color per month is available for purchase on newsprint publications. You may include the spot color of the month on up to eight pages. The color changes on the first day of each month. Cyan should be used to designate spot color throughout your publication. Please refer to the TechKnow Lesson: Using Spot Color for complete instructions on how to designate spot color in your publication.
Spot color may be purchased by the page or group of pages within the same signature. A signature is a set of pages that make up one plate. Listed below are the signatures available for spot color on newsprint.

Full color is available for purchase on newspapers. It is purchased by signature and will appear on up to four pages of the publication. Please note that full color pages are predetermined and cannot be changed.
All images to appear in color should be converted to
CMYK tiff format (jpg for MDO users) prior to placing
them on the page. If you choose full color on fewer
pages than those included in the 2- or 4-page signature, you will be charged
for the full signature. Exceptions cannot be made.
Example: You select full color on pages 6 and 7 of a 12-page newspaper. You will be charged as
though color appears on pages 1, 6, 7 and 12.
Please note that if you choose full color on fewer pages than those included in the 2- or 4-page signature, all full color charges will still apply. Exceptions will not be made.

Upgrade Paper Option: Full color newspaper customers may upgrade from 30# Recycled Newsprint to 35# Highbright (bright white paper) for an additional charge. Please note that 35# Highbright is available on full color newspapers only.

Non-newsprint
Full color is available for all non-newsprint publications and may appear on any pages you choose. Please ensure that all images that should appear in color have been converted to CMYK tiff fomat (jpg for MDO users) prior to placing them on the page.
